Cathy Whitlock co-convenes Pyrogenic Carbon session at American Geophysical Union meeting

A session entitled, “GC46: Pyrogenic Carbon: Modern cycling and Paleoenvironmental applications”, was held at the 2011 Fall AGU meeting (Dec 5-9). This session was intended to encourage dialogue between the modern fire, paleofire and black carbon research communities to highlight recent advances in the quantification, characterization and biogeochemical cycling of pyrogenic carbon and feature its paleoenvironmental interpretation. The session was co-convened by Siddhartha Mitra, Andrew Zimmerman, and WildFIRE PIRE principal investigator Cathy Whitlock.
