Andrés Holz

ARC Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Andrés Holz is a postdoc at the Environmental Change Biology Group (School of Plant Science) of the University of Tasmania. His main research interests are in forest dynamics, especially forest disturbance regimes, disturbance interactions, human-climate influences on disturbances, and regeneration dynamics in temperate rainforests.  In the Wildfire-PIRE project, Andrés is primarily using a dendroecological approach, combined with documentary fire and ethno-historical records and geospatial techniques to understand fire-climate-human interactions, post-fire vegetation dynamics, and various topics around the fire-refugia theme in western Tasmania.  His goal is to develop human-climate-fire linkages between western Tasmania and western Patagonia.
